Hi folks just a quick one was thinking of buying a p38 just wanted to know v8 with lpg or diesel what is best or disco v8 with lpg or diesel need room for 4 bikes not motor bikes lol.

I heard the V8's had lots of head problems and even worse when fitted with LPG so I opted for the DSE diesel, BMW engine so is more than reliable. I had mine chipped to got aroud 30mpg and went like stink. Any P38 the electrics will eventually let you down  :sad: I've had to recently sell mine & brought a 300tdi Disco, this had rust issues so not mot'd so never driven it yet.

V8s are only a problem if they are abused or neglected, of course you don't always have a way of telling that.

Easiest way to tell if a V8 has been abused you tend to get a black sludge in the rockers etc. Best thing for a V8 is regular servicing.

235/85 special tracks, 3.9 V8, HD bumpers, +3 inch lift, +5 shocks f&r, 12000lbs champion winch, heavy duty steering bars, CB and a snorkel....

i had a old V8 Rangie Vogue Auto, sounded lovely, if you dont do many miles then a V8 was my prefered choice.  :cheesy:
