Is it worth breaking a Hilux 1995?
« on: March 04, 2010, 21:54:33 »
As titled really...I have one of these kicking about and the engine is seized up, the rest of it is very nice though really, a bit of a shame. To me though, its just a another car as I have no emotional attachment to it so to me its not worth swapping an engine in. WIll I get much if I start to break it, or would I be wasting my time and better to sell it as a unit?

Its a 2.4 Jap import in dark red btw

Worth many times more as parts. A 2.4 surf with a knackered engine is probably worth £200?

You'll get £50 for the turbo on it's own.   If you've the space and time to break it there's good money to be had. Be fair on prices and people will come back for more.

Well des, I did think about that, lifted the bonnet, then thought, nah, looks too complicated to me (I am used to Landrvers, Range Rovers, SJs, 80s hot hatches etc!) anc lsoed it again. Then to make any realy money it would need Tax and test...just cant be bothered really

This car is now for sale, added a post on the for sale section...anyone got any requests send me a PM.

Shame, looks a nice car really (pic taken today):
