Grand Cherokee indicator problem
« on: August 07, 2009, 20:20:04 »
Hi ........... does anybody know of any issues with the indicators on the WJ ?

What I have is that the left-hand indicator works intermittently. When it doesn't work, if I switch the hazards on & off quickly it'll start working. The same happens if I flash the headlights. We fitted a new hazard warning light switch, which includes the whole stalk assembly, but the problem remains.

 Any ideas ?

It's a funny one - really annoying - it'll also start working if we bang the steering wheel or shroud (not in that way tho' !!! Lol !  )

I haven't found out about her morals yet but I do know she serves a wicked special curry

But to less interesting matters - we did finally trace the problem to a little blue box high up under the dash. It had a wobbly spade connector & a new box  @ approx. £70 solved the problem. It was so expensive 'cos it's not just a flasher unit, but also contains two coils - I don't know what they do tho' !

So sadly this means I now have a brand-new hazard warning light unit which comes complete with the lighting stalk if anyone's interested
