CV Joint

Driving home tonight, started hearing rattle from front end of my grand cherokee, then a ping as a clip flew off, cv boot on o/s now split, and making a noise, rattling like mad, is this difficult to do? and is it safe to drive like this? anyone know where to get one? thanks

Breakers would be cheapest, for a new part try lighthouse in diss.

To swap, take the cap off the wheel, and undo the 36ish nut (scaffold pole might be needed on a 3/4 inch drive breaker bar).

Take the wheel off (jack stands), undo the caliper and then undo the 3 13mm bolts from behind the back plate.

Pull off the bearing, cv and half shaft in one go.

our cv went while at bures its a whole drive shaft but its very easy to replace , take wheel off remove caliper and disc look inside the hub theres 3 12 sided bolts 13mm remove those and pull the drive shaft out, ive got a pair of original jeep drive shafts done less than 100 miles if your interested i paid £300 + for each one im open to offers if u r interested or pm me if you want advice changing yours its very easy

Thanks, managed to get cv joint off ebay £30 and fitting was easy, thanks for offer though
