this is looking great mate, i followed your last post on here and only just found this one, having read through you have some great ideas and i am glad that i am not the only one that thinks of stuff like this. altho you seem to be doing the work, were as i am hanging around waiting to buy the steel before i go cut anything off the back, hoping that santa might have some bits of steel for me, hehehe.

well done mate i look forward to seeing the rest of the work. very inspiring.

ps paint looks great, seen a few matt black AMG's in london on my last visit and they look great, again a change form the norm, but the fashion as you say.
When i get stuck, i am just providing every one around recovery experience, how generous!

Hi Boss

The cooler the inter cooler the better...

try fitting a couple of fans off a water cooled motorcycle(small thin and light)  and a water spray (misting nozzle from a garden centre) this will drop the charge temp when moving at low speeds...

and yes green disco with dodgy photos is giving me nightmares...

Just a small update for people, my new job is very demanding and I don't have much time to work on the truck :( however I am hoarding money together quite nicely :D training my winch bitch up as well, she has only just grasped the concept of diffs but she's coming on well  for the past 2 weeks we have gone down to the disco to work but as we are both distracted easily it hasn't been very productive.
I ordered some coilovers....yeah....they came and they were wrong! which has ticked me off. at one point I decided "yes! I am going to fit portals" but i have again decided against it as I'm short on time and the money is better spent else where!
boggers have also jumped up in price as the dollar strengthens against the pound :'( I'm seriously considering simex ET2's but on a plus side I have been making some deals.....and I'm saying no more on that [-X :-$

another good thing though, at work I have access to a full workshop, hydraulic tools, hydraulic parts access to HUGE marine batteries and HUGE copper cable :D
along with other bits and bobs. and [!Expletive Deleted!]! should be moving along soon :)

not too much to report, bought some good-ish axle stands and there now under the chassis and i have hauled the axels from under there....if anyone needs some 24 spline axle bits give me a shout got the props too the rear is brand new! and some blue braided brake lines. i really have to get cracking with this but i gots no time
sourced myself a hydro steering ram cheap, just awaiting for that to arrive from the states.
got all my winch controle box made up too. it is lockable with a key, has a switch to switch from front to rear winch, big emergancy stop/isolator, winch in/winch out all water proof and neat looking.......have no idea if its legal comp wise but even so im quite happy with it......took me about 4 hours to get right and make it work properley

suspension is still for sale

has anyone got/know anyone with an 8274 for sale? it doesnt matter what state its in i just need one to size evereything up. ill then giggle pin it when the time comes so it doesnt even matter if it works or not!

apolagies for the bad photos....i have got a flash new phone and am shocked at how terrible the camera is! should really buy a new camera

will try to get some better photos up soon

still going down the portal route, found a bloke that sells them all fabbed up, painted and with the disk conversion for 3500 euros which is pretty cushty. might see how much i can get them for without the disks and the brackets and see how much they drop.
there are also a few alternatives that will be available in the next few months but i am sworn to secracy :police:

that aint to bad , if there ready to bolt on even beter , iv been building for the last few weeks and im still not finshed !

not sure if the disks are needed , depends what u want to do with the truck i supose
if its fast off road then there needed

thing is trucks were drum brakes for a long time , i had a 18t daf on a 94 reg and that was drum braked , if drums can haul up 18t loaded im sure if there set up right they will stop a disco
hope to have mine up and running in the next few weeks so shall let u know what drum brakes are like

bloody could have been a volcano today!

ive been busy!
rudeley awoken by my father demanding to know why there was a pallet on the driveway with my name on it.
opend it and diddnt know weather or not anything was in there....dug around a little and found something! :D

jake! was this an april fools joke or is this how you always pack them????

what the bloody hell......

nearley killed me to do this :(

im going to trim the ends of the chassis rails to match the front face of the trayback finisher, should make it fit a little further back :D

still not quite right, but ill sort it out and weld it next time

once again devon4x4 have out done themselves, if anyone is creating "things" or making traybacks you must have a good look at these! design/shape is perfect and once again the quality of the product is second to none! defenatley one going on the back of the disco!
