V8 Not Running Good.
« on: November 11, 2008, 19:15:36 »
Hi Guys & Gals, I thought it would be a good idea to clean to engine bay a clean down as it was looking grotty. I used a jet wash to do this, and i didn't blast the water directly at the dissy or coil as i know they are the parts to avoid. Now i have power problems (poor performance). It has got a range rover 3.5 v8 auto but it feels like a 1.0 saxo. I have checked the spark plugs, removed dissy cap and used hair dryer, Used a shi*e load of wd40 leaving it over night to do its job and still runs poor. Anyone Got any ideas on what i can try next? I would be gratefull

Regards

Matt.

Well after a night of doing this & that the verdict is the stupid silver box with a curcuit board and some resistors. (ECU).

Think i may have to go the TDI way..

The verdict as to matts engine problems was the injector ballast resistor pack, few tracks in the pack had gone very rotton, quick resolder job done, i can recommend a mate of mine whos a wizz with all thing electrical Call stu on 07967480681 or pm axeman, i thank you  :afro:
