We got a new (to us) Freelander today :o)
« on: October 11, 2008, 21:48:43 »
Just picked up Freddy today  :D :D

Only 1 slight issue... When I press the remote button to unlcock, the drivers door button doesn't come up?
Second press releases all the other doors but still not the drivers door.
Can unlock with the key but the alarm emits a low beep and have to switch off.

Any clues???

Dodgy connection to the solenoid maybe?

The drivers door should unlock with the first click leaving the others locked. And as you've found, the rest unlock with the second click.

Sounds like a fault with the mechanism in the driver's door. I'd take the door card off and see if there are any loose or broken connections.

According to the handbook the central locking can be altered to unlock all the doors in one go by a dealer.
Some say that this is just a random collection of letters, and that it can only be
understood by Top Gear's tame racing driver. All we know is, it's called The Sig.

Yep all sorted  :D Put a "new" door lock/motor unit in, works a treat now   (It was the unit with all the rods ect coming off of it)
