got in the jeep as normal went to start the car and the alarm went off.
i just could not turn it off with the key fob / locking and unlocking the car.

as my daughter was late for work, i had to drive 5 miles with the alarm on
then i popped into the local jeep garage who gave me a few options.

i drove home and disconnected the car battery and it stopped.
then reconnected the battery and all was OK

any ideas why it came on ? why the key fob did not work ?
it was the first time i heard the alarm ! anyone also know
how to activate the alarm on the fob or any other way ?
also is it linked to the immoboliser ?

thks

Same incident happened today 14.06.08, but this time when i disconnect and reconnect the battery, the alarm did not turn off >:( so called the RAC and they
dont have a clue. >:( i realise now when i lock/unlock, the indications and the chirp noise do not sound, but it did lock and unlock.

anyone have the experience before and know the cure - need help urgent !

i rang the garage i bought it from and they say  it needs to be reset but dont
know how.

does no one know anything anymore ?  >:(

Jeep in Ipswich said to me it was the siren unit, so i booked the jeep in and they
have replaced the part and charged me £183

BUT my alarm is still not working as its now the alarm controller module !!

I told them i could have had a Toad Cat 1 fitted and jeep alarm disabled for £300.

I have been ROBBED !!

well jeep in ipswich had my jeep for 4 days over 2 weeks and they wanted to spend more time testing the alarm, so i told them not to. they obviously do not have the knowledge !!

anyway had to fight for my refund and they did so at the end which is fair play.

so moral of the story is , dont waste your time booking your car in with jeep
dealers.
