Gearbox Trouble

It seems to be stuck in 4th, the gearstick moves but doesnt change the gear. 3rd to 4th movement is completely limp.
any ideas what the problem is? gearboxes really arnt my strength!

Depending on what gearbox is fitted it would be worth undoing the four or five bolts that hold the gearstick into the top of the box,if it's an R380 the ball sometimes drops off the end of the lever which would explain the sloppy gearstick.The pin on the selector ball housing also tends to wear to nothing more than a point when it should be approx 3mm diameter,also make sure the grubscrew that holds the selector ball housing to the shaft is tight.

had a similar prob with my lt77 box turned out to be the grub screw that ataches gear stick to selecter had come loose, it was an easy fix, just be careful when removing gear stick turret thing as there is a spring loaded bit of metal that flies out of the back, and is easily lost, hope your prob is as easy to fix ;)

had the top of this morning,nothing seems loose :'( looks like its off to the garage to have the gearbox out.
