Land Rover Go 60 Project
« on: February 28, 2008, 12:35:37 »
Ladies, & Gents,

I would like to bring this to your attention,

Land Rover has always been associated with Adventure and Exploration. Employees within the Company still share and foster the spirit to this day. Continuing the spirit of employee led events to support the community, "GO 60 – Sharing Our World" aims to raise publicity and funds to educate and improve the lives of deprived children.

The international size of the community the Land Rover brand represents requires a challenge on a similar scale. GO 60 will hold a children's art competition on a global scale, with events at schools in the West Midlands and at Dealers and Charity projects throughout Europe and Asia. To connect the communities and cross the physical borders and barriers between the children involved, a group of Land Rover employees will undertake the challenge to drive from London to Singapore in just 60 days starting in May 2008. The challenge will provide a publicity focus for investment in education and raising sponsorship and funding for the communities affected. The vehicles will become part of an art exhibition at the end of the trip, with signatures in the form of handprints being added to the vehicles throughout the event.

For the art competition, the team will collate children's entries from along the route, depicting how the children see their world today.  With the theme of sharing and learning through mutual empathy, children will be able to use art as the medium to communicate across language barriers. With prizes for specific categories and age divisions, the pictures of how children see their world around them will promote understanding between different cultures and enable communities to learn from each other. By sharing their world and their experiences with each other, the children will contribute to helping the underprivileged members of a global community connected by GO 60 and its sponsors.

The money raised by GO 60 will be used to help educate underprivileged children around the globe.  A targeted £250,000 will be donated to the International Red Cross. The event will offset the carbon emissions generated by provide funds for Climate Care who help promote energy efficiency and environmental awareness.  GO 60 and its charitable partners are dedicated to improving today's world and protecting our future through educating children.

Fully supported and endorsed by Land Rover, GO 60 is actively seeking partners who would like to be involved in helping with the event.  This is a unique opportunity for companies to be engaged in an exciting project to actively help underprivileged communities and directly impact countries from Europe through to the Far East.  We want to offer you the opportunity to help make a difference - align with this positive charitable cause and reach out to touch the lives of the GO 60 community.

How can you get involved?

There are numerous ways in which you and your Company can help us to raise the publicity and funds required. In return, GO 60 will provide tailored packages of publicity. Donations of equipment, services and logistics support in the countries on the route, helping with publicity events before and after the event, and providing cash donations direct to our charities are all ways in which you can help.
