What next? Ban breathing?

Quote
"Families could also stage their own pantomime, go for a walk, play games or read a book rather than "sit in collective numbness in front of the telly", it advises."

How apt are these Metallica Lyrics in respons to THAT ^

Thrasher, I wonder how many years it'll be before they ban us from reproducing in order to cut down on consumption?

To be honest I am just grateful they are useing plane flights as a comparison and not the evil 4x4.
May I also say if there is anyone out there who would like to offer to do the washing up for a month in my house I will PM them my address, they can stop in the caravan and pretend they are on holiday and that will mean they don't have to fly abroard this year

Not necessarily, it is just another front for the Ecowarriors of this world. Ergo, anything remotely sounding like fun has to be banned so as to save the planet.

I am happy for them to keep coming out with rubbish like this. The more stupid and irrelevent facts they come out with the less attention the general public will pay to them and the 'green' movement as a whole

I tend to agree about the photo frames and I would add to the list plug in air freshners even if they do change colour wooo amazing   and electric can openers (unless you are disabled) which are all pointless wastes of energy and other thing that hacks me off is people who put in low energy bulbs all over the house ,recycle everything they can ,walk or cycle to work and then go and put 4 billion lights on the front of the house every christmas

Oh and the word Humbug has been shortened to hbg to save energy ..

Electric can openers, hmmmm.

Given that a study on the greenhouse gas emissions from the local Gymm proved how bad for the planet exercise is, I wonder if the CO2 emissions form the human power source of the more traditional mechanical can opener are any lower.

I read somewhere that one study showed that a beef-fed amaerican was responsible for more greenhouse gas when walking than by driving, if you take into account the energy-cost of said american and the farming industry that fuels it.

Regarding plug in air fresheners (and I never thought I'd start a post like that!) does anyone else find the adverts downright creepy? I think that rabbit is stoned as a result of over-exposure to them...

I would have more time for low energy lightbulbs if they were as bright as the conventional variety. Even allowing for them to warm up a "100 watt" low energy bulb is nowhere near as bright as a 100 watt normal bulb!
