Paddocks 15" wheels
« on: December 10, 2007, 19:09:21 »
Does anyone know the offset of paddocks 15" in mods, both 8" and 10" wide?

Also whats going to be better? 35/12.50/15 kumho kl71's for the extra height but less grip than.....  265/75/16 insa turbo special tracks whick are more aggressive but arent as high.

Its going on a 300 v8 disco that will be lifted 2" and has big arches on.

Don't forget the effect that 35" tyres will have on your gearing, on standard gearing then a 33" is about as big as you want to go, other wise problems will arise like when pulling away on the road in high box and engine breaking down steep hills off road.

If you want 35" tyres for recreation then there are people selling part worn simexs when they have lost there edge for compatition, but still have many miles pay and play left in them.

Depending on the terrain you drive on most then the KL71 may be a better suited tread than the ITST.

Try phoning paddocks, they may be able to tell you what offset they are, though I have given up asking shops information like that which is not displayed on their website

I think i will just break too many things with simex's (i know even insa's or the kumho's will break things too) as they are just too aggressive.

Plus i have never seen any forsale second hand.

I have thought about using 33's but the 35 kl71's are just £90 each with free delivery.

Ebay, search for 'simex' or similare tyre names like 'silverstone' or 'fedima' and check the search descriptions box as well. Quite often when I look there seems to be a set on there and sometimes a couple of sets. The ammount of tread left on them can vary a lot though. None on at the moment but a search for simex did bring up a set of 35" mud terrains, a case of being patient. There are also a number of other forums worth checking like difflock which seem more likely to have big tyres in the sale sections.
