TD 4 starting problems

Has anbody got this problem my TD4 , its been on the motor from new , its only three years old and still does it after loads of trips mack to the main dealer . the fault is you go to start it and it wurs over and will not start turn the key again and it will do it again then sometimes it will start , sometimes you have to put it in gear rock it back wards and forwards and it will start ,  this can happen at any time what so ever any help would be nice

Sounds like it could be a duff starter motor to me.

Starter motor changed twice  loads of other sensers changed leads changed

Sounds like its a batch of duff starter motors...

What exactly has been done to try and remedy the fault (before something else is suggested that has already been done) ?

The description you give suggests that the starter solenoid is not throwing the starter cog out far enough, could possibly be an electrical problem not a mechanical fault with the starter motor.

The thing is the garage does not tell you everything they have changed start as marked it , and the leads to it , the last thing they changed was something to with the deisel pump a sensor i think thats what  they said

Have you got a multimeter or access to one? Try measuring the resistance/continuity between the starter motor earth and the battery negative - if its a high reading - I would say more than a couple of ohms - it may be there is a bad earth connection.

Yes i have , but thing is it goes for days even weeks not doing it the it will do it two or three times in one day then ok again  will check when it does it next
