Auto gearbox problems

Well as it says it's clunking and banging into gears below 2000 revs and below 30 mph,after this it runs fine. Is it the dreaded gearbox replacement time or what,thanks guys n gals regards Andy.

hi ours doing the same banging and clunking changed gear box oil was fine for a couple of weeks now back to the banging and clunking just dont know what to do now gear boxes are so pricey to replace any advice please
the bumble bee is friendly but she does have A STING IN HER TAIL

Before you take that action, have you checked:
VCU mountings
rear diff mountings
engine mountings

All can go and produce these noises/symptoms.
