Fuel pump is sat in the tank, costs about £100, maybe less.  There should be an access hole under the boot floor.

Thanks for that - he wants to do a straight swap with his disco for my frontera - not too sure what a G reg V8 is worth - ebay seems to average 500-800, also I thought there were 2 pumps on a V8? or is that just later ones???

Mine is of similar vintage and only has the pump in the boot, easy ish job, but the pipe unions can be a tad stubborn @ times,i thought pumps were about £160 when i last looked? but a search around the usual outlets will confirm, Or s/hand ??  Price on the disco is pretty much all down to condition really, check the usual areas for rot ect,i presume its a nonruner then ?? if so be carefull or take a chance if its cheap enough?

Are you going to change ya user name if the deal comes off then ??  Although the pic is ok by me

I think fronty woman is quite apropriate for that picture

ANyhoo, Paddocks might be the best place to look for a new pump, otherwise see who's breaking what.

I'd agree that the pipes near the tank sender might be past their best, but they don't cost the earth to change whilst all is apart.

Any hose that can carry petrol is safe for diesel, but not vica-versa
