Well at least I won something this weekend!
« on: October 21, 2007, 21:23:02 »
Had a tricky day sprint racing at Castle Combe on Saturday

Hit dead badger in the dark on the way there
I forgot my race licence £45 quid fine
Exhaust section dislodged on 10 miles for circuit, car noisy wont pass sound test.
Had to take of undertray to get to exhaust.
Bodged a blow it exhaust putty.
Got through sound test
Did a very slow practice lap as wanted to save it for timed run.
Did timed run, car held togeather until finsih line!
Timed run was quickest in class (just)
Mate (Elise guru) Turned up and diagnosed it as slip joint disloged, fixed it!
Catalytic converter then started to blow its stuffing out. It was probably this that blow out the joint!
Removed cat and knocked the stuffing out with screwdriver.
Reassemble car just in time for second run!

Second run felt ok.

FINAL PLACE FIRST by 1.5 seconds and only 3 100's of class record (if id had a easy day, who knows!)

Id lilke to tkank all my fellow competitors who helped take the car appart!
