just few things i noticed in the ad that was all... they got it advertised as a one owner from new but then say there pretty sure its never been smoked in and also it mentions previous owners 2... to me this isnt the same family from new. from the name i get the idea they are probably a dealer but dont most dealers who use ebay use classified autions so they get the garanteed price rather than i think the 1.00 bid... i also not that youve possibly purchased the car outside of an aution as it has ended with no bids.

if there are any problems then ebay wouldnt be able to back you up and thus you quite possibly could loose what ever money you have infact brought the car for as it clearly sates that its bid to buy not bid to look and if you did want to inspect the car it should be done before hand.

Yes i realise you probably know all this but would hate to see a fellow member stuffed up as it were by not mentioning possibly the obvious (sp?)
i belive some of the Rav4's are not 4wheel drive so i would get under the car and check for all relevent parts that make it a 4wheel drive system.

personally it all just doesnt sound right to me im afraid... and i realise this is probably a little late as you are taking delivery tomorrow.
i do wish you luck and hope that there are no problems with the car.. and you complete the transaction smoothly...

Just to clear a few things up, the guy is a dealer, I offered him £1000 to end the auction early so you are right I am not covered my ebay, however I have an invoice with his company address and vat number so I am covered by trading standards somewhat. The only problems I can find with the car are the tailgate rattles and when the clutch is dipped there is a heavy double 'clunking' noise from underneath at the rear. Does anyone know what this could be?

At the risk of being mean...

Pair of scissors fallen down the back seat?

Hair curlers rolling around under the brake pedal?

Perming lotion corroded the brake pipe seals?

Hope no offense caused

hi   bought a rav for my girlfriend about 6 months ago, did a bit of research before buying and the good news is they are toyotas, so fairly bomb proof i believe some of the later models had a gearbox/clutch prob but they were later than yours. if mileage and service history are gen then you should have a good motor, plus side fast, reliable, practical, down side a bit thirsty and not built for off roading
