hi all. got a mate who has just bought a cherokee and it needs the starter motor replaced. can anyone tell me what is involved with the removal of said item. i cant seem to find any info on it....its a manual box by the way  :wink:

Hi there. You will need to disconnect the live on the battery then you will need to undo the two long bolts that hold the starter to the engine block. The bolts require a female torx socket and an extension bar. Once you have undone the long bolts you will need to jiggle it about a bit to get it down but that's about it really mate. Has the starter failed or is it just playing up?
