Freelander Tow Bar Electrics
« on: June 05, 2007, 11:53:52 »
Morning!

Well, I picked up the Freelander yesterday, and so far it's behaving (got an annoying whistle whenever you use the heater fan, and there's a bit of noise from the rear suspension when you brake hard, but other than that it's fine!)

I'm after fitting a tow bar - mainly for off road recovery, but also so that I can (surprise surprise :D ) tow a trailer! I've seen that Paddocks do the Britpart tow bar for £92 + vat, but the wiring kit is a splice job, rather than a plug in. Land Rover's tow bar (with plug in electrics) is £220.

Does anyone know if the wiring kit comes as a separate part so I don't have to splice the wiring (and apparently invalidate my warranty)? It might be cheaper to buy the tow bar from Paddocks, ditch the splice electrics, and buy the electrics from Land Rover...

No doubt more questions will follow

Cheers

Ben

Thanks G30RGE :D

Does anyone know if it's the the same part as for other Land Rovers (eg Disco etc).

Cheers
