My 4 litre Grand Cherokee and is showing about 15-17 around town on the display. This is a US gallon though, so add 20% for an imperial gallon...that makes it about 20mpg urban. Give it some welly and I reckon it would be hard to get 15 though.

I have plans to convert to LPG so will at least feel better putting cheap fuel in.... if I can forget the conversion cost !

Downhill with a tailwind mine shows 99mpg, uphill with a headwind and from a standing start is a different story ... about 3 mpg

Admittedly it wasn't driven with economy in mind but thats all it returned.......  Was better on the motorway but to work and back she ate £50 a fortnight and that was only 6 or 7 miles from home

Just had a run up to Langdale Quest from Sheffield and returned 28mpg (US gallon) according to the readouts. I reckon thats 32mpg imperial.
Most of the route is motorway/dual carriageway, and I was cruising along at 65/70 mph most of the way.
Not too bad eh ?

Update ...

HWMBO has used it all week back and forth through town to work. The average has dropped to 21mpg (U.S. gal) and she has only done about 100 miles, so we are back to 15-16 urban..  :(

The only way forward is to gas it I reckon ... will book it in for next month. I reckon it will take a while to get the cost back, but I will feel better when i go to fill it up, and will be saving the planet too.. .. err how about a "carbon footprint" refund Mr Brown ?

She seems quite happy in her pink wellies so I will leave her be.

Not sure she would appreciate a K&N filter, although she has been known to nick a B&H filter off me at Christmas time.
oops ... you mean the jeep ?
That was serviced 1000 miles ago.

Don't agree...on or off road they offer better performance and MPG and if you do get them dirty when off road they are easily cleanable...tho if you are getting them that dirty maybe a snorkle is needed?

first thing i do is change the paper filter to a k&n(and thats not just on the offroad cars or petrol cars)
for a few reasons
1 you dont need to replace every service so pays for itself after a few services
2 it will not break up when it gets wet like the oem paperfilters
3 gives a small increase in fuel economy and performance
as for letting crap though ive thad no problems so im off to buy one for my cherry
as for fuel cosumption it was bad when i first got it but that was down to me driving it like i drove the zook but now im used to it its not that bad im getting about 20mpg out of it driving at a steady 70 on the motorway with the cruise comtrol on
