just got an f reg rangie and the electric seats wont go forward
it goes up and down and back
if i cut and swap the wirers round will it go forward?
f reg rangie 3.9 auto bought 5/2/07

The switch is goosed, not uncommon for them to only work in one direction like this.  S/H switches are about £35-40 on fleabay.  Depending on condition I can recondition them for about £20-25, or you can cut them out and fit some other type of switch.

Hi mate,

The switches get bad contacts which need cleaning.  This is a very fiddly job but I did do it myself with a little help from some info I got from an American website.  It takes a steady hand and a lot of long deep breaths to keep cool but it got mine working.

I saved the info on a word document so if you want a copy send me your e-mail address and I will forward it to you.
