my brake check light came on last week.had a new clutch a few week ago so put it down to the the handbrake light switch.as if you put the hand brake on then of it went out.wile out today it came on again.my brake vacume pump has an oil leak it coud'nt be anything to do with that could it.

Mine has started and I know it's not the pads.  Too many lights, give a false sense of security or cause you to panic, I never trust them
