Cherokees of '94 - type

It may well have been covered before on here, but have a look at the chassis leg where the steering box bolts on (RHD models).  The leg is not reinforced properly, unlike the l/h leh, and tends to crack/collapse.  First signs are vague steering, then visible cracks.  It should have had a factory recall repair, which consists of plates and support tubes being welded in.

This will still be done if it hasn't been done already.  It's hard to believe that a vehicle can escape the net for 12 years or more, but it does happen.  We did an 'M' reg'd one this week - the worst I've ever seen.

Of the three bolts supposed to hold the box, one was missing, one had been put through from the wrong side and sheared off, and the third had a large suare  'washer' under the head because the leg had cracked so badly.

And the customer was still driving it daily.

All repaired FOC
