They're back on Monday, unless I 'forget' to go to the airport :D

Got to make the most of it tomorrow, as all I did this morning was photograph old bridges.

By the way; the location of the driveway photo is revealed in my 'WebShots'

I think that some people have got the wrong idea about 50th's i saw a disco for sale on auto trader site couple of days ago stating it was a 50th aniversary edition the picture showed a GOLD tdi first registered 1998 does that men all i have to do to be a 50th owner is to buy an S reg and stick a couple of stickers on the side

In what respect have they got 'the wrong idea', Vinnie??

Land Rover did offer the 50th Discovery in 'White Gold' as well as green.
For some unknown reason they never offered the 90, Free-Lander & Range Rover in it.
I've only ever seen one that was feasibly a 'W/Gold' 50th, but never got the chance to investigate it.

50th Discovery's are recognised by several items fitted, admittedly they could be installed on another model.
But if you really wanted one, you'd check the VIN number with LR, or look at areas of paint that are hidden away (under front seat, etc....)

If you're looking for one, I'll let you know the full-spec.

guilty of sarcasm and ignorance i was under the impression that the green blue now you see it now you dont pearlywhatsit paint was a one off for the"50th" i follow sogster down the M1 every morning he has got one and i think that he is under the same impression PS ibet that they are even rarer than the blue/green ones especialy if it was disco only

No worries Vinnie.
The paint was unique to the Anniversary models (all the range got it)

But the 'White Gold' was a standard colour as offered on all the other levels of trim ('S', 'ES', 'GS')

So presumably all the buyers of them when they were new wanted it to be recognisible as a little differant.

I acknowledge 'Sogs' is differant to mine - his is polished! :D , mine gets washed when it rains (or I go fording)

Pastiche!!
Hi Richard,

Funny you mention the Pastiche because me & SWMBO were looking at the very same last year. A truly beautiful van indeed. i found it very hard to find fault with the two we looked at. I had the chance to purchase their last new van of that year with a £1,500 reduction and it would have still come with all the security bits and CDplayer etc. But with the fear of the 48 hour working week looming large at the start of next year we decided to give it a miss incase the normal wage fund gets seriously eroded.

Dilemma.

The Discovery's getting quite dirty even for me, I'm getting so I have to open the windows to see out at junctions in the dark.

Do I 'clea.. clea... cle... was.. wa...' make it less dirty before going to Tong on Sunday?
Or simply hope it rains/snows?

I have no qualms about doing SWMBO's car, I did it last Sunday.
I even took off the wheel-trims & scrubbed them with a nail-brush!

It's getting muckier by the week.
Here it is at Thwaite Mills, an industrial museum at Leeds, I had a quick look after taking SWMBO to pick her car up after a service at the main dealer in Leeds.
Once more she had to drag me away from the Octavia vRS :D, I think I've persuaded her to look at it as a company car - or perhaps a Superb Tdi (130)

DM Keiths (the dealer) had a marvellous looking blue( ) Superb in the showroom, the best approximation would be LR 'Biarritz Blue'.
V.nice black leather interior as well. Tempting, very tempting.

Does anyone else find that whenever you park in a car park that you get back and there's nearly always another Landrover in the next bay?

S'funny though, a 'R' plate. Everyone I've seen (10 of them) have been 'S'

I didn't think it came out (I can check) until very late July/early August
