Rustproofing For Beginners?
« on: February 10, 2004, 22:56:15 »
Hi All,

Need some advice on how to deal with some rust on me motor

Having removed the plastic sill trims after fitting the jackable sills and before putting on some checker plate angle, I've found rust around the holes in the panel. Have wire brushed most of the loose rust off down to some bare metal.
Having run out of time just sprayed some waxolye (small spray can that they do) over the area to protect it for now.

Would like to respray the right colour dispite that this area will be covered.
No waxolye teatment has been applied to anyother parts yet but will be doing this in the future.

Also the rear door bottom corners are showing signs of a problem under the paint which is bubbling up now I understand the outer door skins are aluminum, is this right and how should I deal with this?

Can anyone recommend products to use and ways to do theses jobs?

Now has anyone seen a website detailing what to do or could e-mail a copy from a book.

Any advice would be most welcome Thanks.
Cheers.
