How do i go about changing my rear tailgate on my pickup from opening downwards

to opening side ways

You can remove the vertical hinges from the tail gate, fit the swing type to it on the right side and use the left side hook catch as the lock

Worked on my old Series

Im doing this to mine tomorrow,bought a couple of rear door hinges for a fiver and should be a piece of cake?I will update tomorrow!!

I did this on my S111 over 20-years ago and 10 years ago to my current 90 and it works very well.
Just drill & fit a pair of hinges to the O/S of the tailgate and then fit a second up & over catch to the bottom corner of the N/S (stops it twisting if you have a load in the back of the vehicle).
The tailgate will also take the attachement of a side-hinged spare wheel carrier.

Well ive done it,about an hour and it looks no different,but you can get in much easier!!!
