Not long ago I changed the wheels on my 98 XEDi from the standard 16" five spoke s to a set of late FL 17" alloys and fitted them with a set of Scorpions.


I think the car looks great and the later alloys give the car a nice wider stance.

Now, having looked at some of the pics around on the web im wondering whether I should go back to the 16s and put some big fat tyres on

What you think ??

Any reccomendations for fat chunky tyres for the 16" rims

If you want a more aggressive tyre then you will have a problem finding them in 17" sizes.

I'll second that,when i bought mine it had 17'' on and i changed to 16'' and it's a different world. Currently on 215/70x16 General AT'2s but thinking of going onto 205/80x16 for a bit of lift.

I do like the look of the 17s but you are down to a 55 profile.

need to make decision soon as I need 2 new tyres for the 17s and dont want to buy em if im going to the 16s !!

PS- Whereabouts are you as i might be be selling my tyres and they all have 8mm on them,but the spare is brand new,and having just looked on the net the wheels might be up for grabs too?,cheers Andy.
