Hi

I need to look at the brakes on my sankey trailer.

How much travel should there be on the eye for the brakes?

Ive put a cable tie round it, and when i brake very hard in the 90, the tie only moves about an inch. I assume that the brakes are working, but wonder if there should be more travel to put them on harder?

Also, do the sankey just take normal landrover drum brakes?

I'd expect it to move maybe half of the travel available, are you happy that the trailer brakes are coming on?

As a guide the reversing block should be sufficient to prevent the brakes coming on, IIRC that means I have more travel than that on mine.
